Four-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Tornado and Apple Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid churn with large rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with the number 4 surrounded by brushed cobalt "tornadoes" and two apples separated by a flourish. 4 1/4" inverted Y-shaped line to shoulder. 2 1/2" Y-shaped hairline to reverse and a 2 1/2" Y-shaped hairline under one handle. A few minor chips on interior of rim. H 16".
