Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "SOMERSET. / POTTERSWORKS," Massachusetts origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, thin rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt floral and looping line design. Flakes around base. Cracks on underside, extending onto base on reverse. Chips to one handle. Small chip to opposite handle. 1 1/2" hairline from rim on front. 1 1/2" rim chip. Chips on interior rim area. H 15".
