One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with squared rim and applied tab handles, decorated on both sides with brushed cobalt swags and hanging flowers around the shoulder. Provenance: From a thirty-year Virginia collection. A few small chips to rim. Chipping to shoulder molding on one side. Wear to end of one handle. Chip to end of opposite handle. Spidering hairlines in underside with a 5" line extending up from base on one side. H 10".
