One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, probably Huntingdon Co., PA, circa 1850, ovoid jar with squared rim and ribbed lug handles, profusely-decorated on the front and back with a series of brushed cobalt flowers extending from a leafy stem. Provenance: From a thirty-year Virginia collection. 3 1/2" contact mark on one side and a 2" contact mark on reverse. Some light water glass staining. A few minor chips to interior of rim. Two small base chips. H 11".
