Four-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "MOORE, NICHOLS & CO. / Williamsport, PA," circa 1880, ovoid jar with flattened rim and applied lug handles, decorated with two brushed cobalt flowers extending from a leafy stem. Brushed cobalt "4" to left of decoration and unusual cobalt stripe below rim. As-made condition with an in-the-firing faint line in shoulder and blackish in-the-firing discoloration at base on reverse. H 12 1/2".
