One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and thick rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. Approximately 6" x 5" restored area on left side of jug. Glazed-over stone ping to right of decoration. Some wear to cobalt. H 10 5/8".
