Ovoid Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, James River Basin, VA origin, circa 1820, ovoid jar with straight tab handles and tall collar with thin rim, decorated on the front and back with a brushed cobalt floral motif, the one side including a dotted center to the blossom. Two rim chips and a few very minor rim nicks. Contact mark to shoulder. Thin spidering cracks throughout much of body, extending onto underside. Two base nicks and two small glazed-over base chips. 1/4" stone ping to one handle. H 13 1/4".
