Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles, decorated in cobalt with a large crested bird perched on a leaf. Horizontal line extending around base on reverse, which does not extend through to interior. Small chips on interior of rim. Two chips and stone ping on exterior of rim. 1/4" flake on front. H 9 1/4".
