Possibly Unique Stoneware Flask with Cobalt Clock Face Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1840, wheel-thrown flask with flattened circular sides, decorated on one side with a brushed cobalt clock face within an incised border. Reverse with a lighter variation of this design. Extremely rare and highly decorative design. 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" flake to underside. Tiny hole in underside. A few base chips to front. Crack extending from underside up edge of flask to shoulder. Small flake associated with this crack on flask's edge. 1/4" hairline from rim. Small glazed-over spout chip. H 6 1/4".
