Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO," circa 1850-1880, cylindrical jug with rounded spout and ribbed strap handle, decorated around the shoulder with a brushed cobalt dotted tulip design and along the handle with cobalt spots. Small base chip. Contact marks to shoulder and front of jug. 1" handle chip, possible in-the-firing. H 14 1/4".
