Ovoid Stoneware Jug with Incised Foliate Decoration, Stamped "I. SEYMOUR & CO / TROY," circa 1823-1828, skillfully-thrown ovoid jug with narrow base, bulbous midsection, semi-rounded spout, and ribbed strap handle. Decorated with an incised scalloped leaf design highlighted in cobalt. Featured in the Museum of American Folk Art Exhibit "The Pottery of the State," April 18 - June 2, 1974. Mint, as-made condition with some minor firing blemishes. H 13 1/2".
