Five-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "A.K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1870, large-sized cylindrical jug with rounded shoulder and wide, thick spout, decorated with a brushed cobalt cluster of grapes extending from a leafy vine with wavy tendril. Small nick and stone ping to front. Glazed-over stone ping to right side of jug. Two spout chips. Chip on underside at edge. Some drips of staining to surface. H 17 1/2".
