One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, James River, VA origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with squared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with brushed cobalt swags on both sides. One handle completely restored. Restored 2 1/4" circular area on one side. Small chip to interior of rim. Base chips. In-the-firing chip / contact mark at base. Wear to shoulder. H 9 1/2".
