Rare Glazed Redware Jug, attributed to John Corliss, Woolwich, Maine, circa 1840, ovoid jug with pronounced foot, flattened spout, and applied ribbed handle, decorated with splashed manganese around the shoulder and handle, the entire surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Attractive tannish coloration with brown daubs around upper portion of jug with a speckled reddish hue below. Wear and one shallow chip to handle. Chips and wear to spout. Light wear to glaze at midsection. Some very minor base nicks. H 6 3/4".
