Slip-Decorated Redware "ABC" Plate, attributed to Norwalk, CT, circa 1840, with coggled edge, decorated in yellow slip with the script letters "ABC" underscored by a flourish. Desirable inscription. Provenance: William Kelly Young Collection. Rim chips. 3 1/2" line on front, which does not extend through to reverse. 2" crack-like flaw on reverse, which does not extend through to front, and likely occurred in the firing. Diameter 9 1/8".
