Six-Gallon Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Cream Jar, Stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG," circa 1880, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and rim and applied lug handles, decorated with an elaborate stenciled cobalt design with flowers extending from the center. Fry to cobalt. Stone ping above one handle with a small surface flake. 5" hairline extending from rim above left handle. 6 1/2" crack from rim above right handle. Additional 6" inverted Y-shaped hairline on right side of jar. Additional surface lines to jar. Stone ping on rim and at base. H 15".
