Five-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, probably Samuel Irvine, Newville, PA, circa 1865, ovoid jar with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed cobalt double-stemmed floral design, accented with dots. 3 1/2" vertical line at base on reverse, continuing onto underside. Approximately 4" x-shaped surface line on reverse, which does not go through to interior. Approximately 3" x-shaped surface line on front, which does not go through to interior. H 13 5/8".
