Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "R. BTT / W," Richard Butt, Washington, D.C., circa 1835, ovoid jar with semi-squared rim and applied tab handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt flower extending from a leafy garland on each side. Restored rim chip. Small, shallow chip on top of rim. Restored handle chip. Small chip to opposite handle. Faint horizontal lines at base. Some minor base chips. H 10 3/8".
