Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "R. BUTT / W," Washington, D.C. origin, circa 1835, straight-sided jar with rounded shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated completely around with three large brushed cobalt tulips. Horizontal crack around much of jar near base. Significant in-the-firing crazing to underside. A few minor base nicks. H 9 1/2".
