Large-Sized Stoneware Jar with Incised Floral Decorations, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated on one side with an incised and cobalt-filled star, and on the reverse with an incised and cobalt-highlighted leaf design. Flaking around midsection and base. Some small rim chips. Base chips. In-the-firing line in underside, which does not go through to interior. H 15 1/2".
