Glazed Redware Chicken Salt Shaker, probably Jugtown Pottery, NC origin, 20th century, hand-modeled chicken with pinched tail, flattened clay ball eyes, and punched holes in breast, covered in a lead glaze over an olive ground with orange highlights. Opening in underside. Excellent condition. A few minor glaze flakes to underside and one glaze flake to base of tail, all of which appear to be in-the-making. Light wear to top of head. H 2 5/8" ; Length 3 7/8".
