Shenandoah Valley Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "S. BELL & SON / STRASBURG," circa 1890, ovoid jar with rounded rim, covered with cream-colored slip and a lead glaze on the exterior and a clear lead glaze on the interior. Impressed with "S. BELL & SON" maker's mark on shoulder. S. Bell & Son jars of this style are more commonly found in a three color polychrome glaze. Short hairlines from rim. Wear to rim. Light wear to base. Some small flecks on missing glaze. H 8".
