Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WM-A'MACQUOID & CO / NEW-YORK. / LITTLE WST 12TH ST.," circa 1863-1869, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with flowering plant bearing three open-centered blossoms with elongated stamens. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Heavy staining to surface. A small chip to proper left handle. A rim chip on reverse along with two other minor, glazed-over rim chips. A minor chip to proper left handle. A 1 1/2" vertical line at base on front, not visible on interior. A minor chip to interior of rim. Light wear to inner rim for lid. H 11 3/4".
