Rare Glazed Stoneware Rooster with Blue Slip Decoration, Signed, "AM," Arie Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1956-1969, wheel-thrown and hand-modeled figure of a chicken on pedestal base with serrated tail and comb and applied circular eyes and wattle, decorated with blue-slip feathering and covered in a sporadic grayish glaze. Underside incised with Arie Meaders's initials. Provenance: Frank W. White Collection. Essentially as-made condition with a 1" in-the-firing loss to tail feathers and minor in-the-firing chip to tail. Two minor firing cracks to underside. H 11 1/2".
