Rare Painted Redware Vase, Stamped "JOHN W. BELL / Waynesboro, Pa," late 19th century, cylindrical form with pronounced foot and flaring, tooled collar, the exterior with painted surface, the interior covered in a clear lead glaze over a yellowish-orange ground. Underside impressed with John W. Bell maker's mark. Exterior with old green paint removed, revealing traces of original paint. Green paint to underside. A 7/8" base chip and 1" reglued base chip including a minor base chip. Two minor chips to underside. H 9 1/2".
