Glazed Redware Jar with Impressed Decoration, probably Eastern TN origin, circa 1840-1880, ovoid jar with footed base and coggled rim, the surface decorated with individually-impressed asterisk, checkerboard, and cross motifs. Exterior and interior covered in a reddish-brown glaze composed of lead colored with manganese or iron. Good condition with wear to rim and midsection. H 4 5/8".
