Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Impressed Hearts Decoration, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled base, tooled, flaring collar, and open loop handles, decorated with two impressed hearts below a Charlestown maker's mark. Dentile coggling to collar and shoulder. Dipped iron decoration to upper and lower body. Rim chips. A 4" hairline from rim. An in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder. H 13".
