Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Cream Pitcher, AL or NC origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid pitcher with tall, flaring collar and combed incising to midsection, the surface covered in a striated, olive-colored alkaline glaze. Original handle composed of a darker clay. Desirable form and size. Provenance: Lincoln Auction Company, Lincolnton, N.C. As-made condition with large pieces of in-the-firing clay adhered to underside. H 4 7/8".
