Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher, attributed to the Stone or Penland Family, Buncombe County, NC origin, second half 19th century, highly-ovoid pitcher with tooled midsection and flared collar, the surface covered in a streaky reddish-brown alkaline glaze. Very nice condition. A minor chip to interior of rim and wear to rim. Shallow kiln scars to bottom edge of pitcher. H 7 5/8".
