Rare Glazed Redware Jar with Lid, attributed to Nathan Dicks, Randolph County, NC, circa 1875-1910, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and flattened lug handles with depressed terminals, the upper body with lead-glazed coating producing a colorful olive surface with orange spotting. Clear lead glaze to interior. Includes original unglazed lid. Jar with wear to interior, in otherwise excellent condition. Lid with a 1 3/8" edge chip, a minor edge chip, minor in-the-firing surface fissures to underside (not visible on top of lid), and a minor 1/2" surface line to top edge.
