Rare Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher, Pottersville Stoneware Manufactory, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1820-1840, ovoid pitcher with tall, flaring collar, the surface covered in a light-gray alkaline glaze with greenish cast and brownish accents. Relatively few pitchers from this pottery have been documented. Very nice condition with a small rim chip, a minor rim nick, a minor 1 1/4" line from rim, mostly visible on exterior, and some glazed-over, in-the-making surface fissures. H 10".
