Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1985, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with black-slip pupils, ears, nose, chin, and open mouth with kaolin teeth. Surface covered in a glossy olive-colored alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Significant loss to proper left ear. Otherwise excellent condition with minor white paint residue to underside. H 9 1/2".
