Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Catawba Valley, NC origin, second half 19th century, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim and arched lug handles, the surface covered in a mottled olive-colored alkaline glaze. Impressed "2" at shoulder. A shallow 3/4" chip to proper left handle. Light surface wear. A short T-shaped line at base, forming a larger V on underside. H 13 1/2".
