Two Albany, NY Stoneware Advertising Jugs, NY State origin, circa 1875, both of cylindrical form with tooled spouts, a one-gallon example with the unusual vertically slip-trailed inscription, "Cushman & Co / Broadway / Albany / N.Y," paired with a two-gallon example with the large slip-trailed inscription, "P Cushman / & Co. / Wines & Liquors / Albany N.Y." Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Smaller in excellent condition with a tiny spout nick. Larger with mostly minor flaws, including a narrow 1" in-the-firing flake to spout, other minor flakes to spout, a small T-shaped line at base, minor flakes beside "P" in "P Cushman," two tiny in-the-firing pings to front, a 5/8" in-the-firing base chip on reverse, and some staining. H (of shorter) 11 3/4".
