One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON, VT," circa 1860, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Large areas of restoration, including restoration to handle, not affecting decoration. H 12".
