Two-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, cylindrical churn with flaring collar and arched tab handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with a two-stemmed flowering plant bearing four tulips or bellflowers. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Two large restored sections to exterior of rim. Minor unrestored rim chips. Significant restoration to one handle. A few small base chips. A very shallow 1 1/4" flake to underside. Some light wear to cobalt. H 13 1/2".
