Large-Sized Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flaring collar, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with a horizontal stem bearing four fanned blossoms and large leaves. Swag decoration around collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a wavy line of cobalt below each handle. Jar measures approximately six gallons. Excellent condition with a small lime ping to shoulder and some staining. H 15".
