Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Stamped "B.B. CRAIG / VALE, N.C.," early fourth quarter 20th century, ovoid jug with flaring spout and two applied handles at the shoulder, decorated with a hand-modeled and applied clay face includes china teeth and kaolin eyes with blue pupils, the surface covered in a grayish alkaline glaze. Impressed with Burlon B. Craig maker's mark on underside. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 12 1/2".
