Scarce Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug with Elaborate Rock Teeth, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa late 1970s, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with black-slip pupils, well-formed ears, nose, broad chin, and smiling mouth with several delicately-applied quartz teeth. Surface covered in a mottled olive-colored alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Essentially as-made condition with firing cracks to underside. H 10 3/4".
