Rare Small-Sized Rochester, NY Stoneware Advertising Jug, Rochester, NY orgin, possibly John Burger, mid 19th century, cylindrical jug with rounded spout, featuring the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "FROM J. COCHRANES / ONE PRICE CASH GROCERY HOUSE / 79 MAIN ST CRYSTAL PALACE BLOCK / ROCHESTER." Unusual size and subject matter. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor in-the-firing ping near base and an in-the-making, glazed-over dent to base with two very short lines extending from it. H (excluding cork) 9".
