Two-Gallon Stoneware Syrup Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD / POTTERY CO.," George Satterlee, Fort Edward, NY, circa 1859, semi-ovoid jug with flared and pinched pouring spout, decorated with a stylized slip-trailed floral design featuring two circular blossoms emanating from a leafy stem, surrounding by graduated dashes. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. A glazed-over spout chip and post-firing spout chip. Some in-the-firing surface chips (contact marks) near base on front. Staining to surface. H 14 1/4".
