Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "ALBANY N, Y ," third quarter 19th century, semi-ovoid jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with long, cobalt-highlighted tail, striped wing, and spotted body, perched on a stylized branch. Slip-trailed "3" above. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Some fry to cobalt. A minor spout chip. A minor, glazed-over base chip. H 13 1/2".
