Extremely Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Chamberpot, attributed to the Swank Pottery, Johnstown, PA, circa 1875, ovoid pot with footed base, flattened rim, and applied handle, decorated around the body with seven groups of vertical swags. Cobalt highlight to upper handle terminal and floral motif to lower handle terminal. Provenance: A recently discovered example. Essentially as-made condition with a 7/8" in-the-firing rim chip, which is lightly glazed over. Diam. 8" ; H 5 1/4".
