One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON, / BENNINGTON VT.," circa 1855, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed floral spray accented with spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. A 1 1/4" flake to interior of rim. Some light staining. The numbers "10-40" written on underside in black marker. H 7 1/4".
