Stoneware Jar with Coggled Vine Motif, Stamped "PAUL :CUSHMAN's.STONEWARE.FACTORY.1809," Paul Cushman Pottery, Albany, NY, 1809, wide, ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, and applied lug handles, featuring the long coggled maker's mark of the Paul Cushman Pottery below a coggled vine motif. Heavy chipping around base. A 1/4" hole in underside extending from a large flake on interior. An in-the-firing iron ping near midsection on reverse. A 1 1/4" crack from rim on jar's proper left side. Two small chips to exterior and rim and minor wear to interior of rim. H 7 5/8" ; Diam. 7 3/4".
