Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stamped "W.H. CRISCO," Randolph Co., NC origin, late 19th century, approximately one-half-gallon ovoid pitcher with flaring collar, broad strap handle, and coggled banding to collar and banding, decorated with brushed cobalt daubs to the body, collar, and handle, along with cobalt accents to the rim. Exceptional form with the unusual addition of cobalt slip decoration. Excellent condition with a minor rim chip, a small in-the-firing contact mark to front, a small stone ping to collar, and salt residue to underside. H 8".
