Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with recessed "wax sealer" rim, brush-decorated with three stripes. Inner wax sealer rim with in-the-firing roughness and a small glazed-over chip. A few in-the-firing rim chips. An in-the-firing contact mark to proper left side of jar. A minor in-the-firing ping to shoulder. H 6 3/8".
