One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to William Nichols, Poughkeepsie, NY, circa 1823, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and squared spout, brush-decorated with a fan-shaped foliate design emanating from a series of graduated ovals. An in-the-firing iron ping to spout. A long, thin vertical crack on reverse and various other thin lines and cracks. A small in-the-firing iron ping to front.H 11 1/8".
