Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with squared rim and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a clover plant motif on the front and reverse. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A long, arching crack at base. Otherwise excellent condition with small traces of old paint to surface. H 14 1/4".
