Pottery Roof Tile, PA origin, 18th or 19th century, oblong tile composed of dense reddish clay featuring impressed fan and star designs. Literature: For a closely-related tile, dated 1761 and attributed to an Oley Valley, PA potter, see Thrown, Fired, and Glazed: The Redware Tradition from Pennsylvania and Beyond, p. 163. Loss to one corner. Otherwise excellent condition. L 14 3/4".
